Center for Healthcare Quality Spurs Job Creation, Hiring More Than 20 Employees

Established in 2006, the Center for Healthcare Quality has taken seriously the charge to create well-paying, knowledge economy jobs. In addition to endowed chair holders Jay Moskowitz, PhD, and Iain Sanderson, MD, FRCA, the Center has hired more than 20 employees to support efforts to advance rural healthcare quality and the creation of a statewide health information technology infrastructure. During a time when unemployment has reached all-time highs in our nation and state, such job creation is important. Other Health Sciences South Carolina-supported Centers of Economic Excellence (CoEE) have also generated employment opportunities for researchers, research assistants and administrators.
