Regenerative Medicine

The Regenerative Medicine Center of Economic Excellence (CoEE) is centered in a rapidly emerging field with the potential to revolutionize health care by restoring, maintaining, or enhancing tissue and organ function. The CoEE concentrates on two areas: therapeutic applications that involve growing tissues and organs for transplantation and diagnostic applications for testing drug metabolism, uptake, toxicity, and pathogenicity. During the initial phases of development, the CoEE is leveraging the multidisciplinary talents of Clemson University, the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), and the University of South Carolina in the fields of biology, medicine, engineering, and computational sciences.
