| One of the HSSC-supported Centers of Economic Excellence, the Healthcare Quality Center, has taken seriously the charge to create well-paying, knowledge-economy jobs. In addition to endowed chair holders Jay Moskowitz and Iain Sanderson, the center has hired more than 20 employees to support efforts to advance rural health care quality and to create a statewide health information technology infrastructure since its launch in 2006. During a time when unemployment has reached all-time highs in our nation and state, such job creation is important.
Other HSSC-supported Centers of Economic Excellence have also generated employment opportunities for researchers, research assistants, and administrators.
