USC School of Nursing Opens Simulation Lab

The University of South Carolina (USC) School of Nursing opened its patient simulation lab in early 2009. The realistic healthcare facility, which is supported by Health Sciences South Carolina. There are now six simulation labs across the state affiliated with the Center for Patient Safety and Clinical Effectiveness: the Medical University of South Carolina (headquarters), Clemson University College of Nursing, Greenville Health System, Palmetto Health/USC School of Medicine, the USC School of Nursing, and Greenville Technical College.
The USC School of Nursing simulation lab is equipped with ten training rooms, a large classroom, two offices, seven simulation mannequins, and staff to lead the simulation courses. The lab trains up to 250 nursing students each week.
