Dr. Jay Moskowitz served as HSSC’s President and CEO for more than six years. During his time at the helm of this collaborative organization of universities and hospitals, he helped to create HSSC’s foremost accomplishment - the clinical data warehouse. Moskowitz's original contract was only for five years, but since the data warehouse was not ready at the end of that period, he decided to stay longer to see it to fruition.
“It has been a privilege to build something that didn’t exist before, “ Moskowitz said. “There is a spirit of cooperation in South Carolina that I have never seen anywhere else.”
Todd Thornburg, who has served as Chief Operating Officer for HSSC, has been announced as the interim president while a national search is being conducted to find Dr. Moskowitz’s successor.
