July 8, 2014

HSSC Chief Medical Officer Christine Turley, MD, and Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the USC School of Medicine, was named among the Columbia Regional Business Report’s Most Influential Women in Business for 2014.

Turley was one of 12 Midlands women nominated in four award categories: Business Owner- CEO, Executive, Rising Star, and Volunteer. Winners were chosen based upon professional excellence and leadership in their careers and community service.

At HSSC, Turley helps shape the organization’s clinical vision and activities. She convenes research leaders, healthcare leaders, community physicians, and patients from across the state to collaborate and enhance the missions of health systems and universities. This includes helping institutions apply for grant funding, as well as working to create and improve systems that foster better patient outcomes and public health in South Carolina.
