Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System joined Greenville Health System, MUSC Health, and Palmetto Health in providing data to HSSC’s Clinical Data Warehouse (CDW). The addition of Spartanburg Regional means the CDW now includes the data of some 3.8 million patients. HSSC is working to update the CDW to include lab results along with the death records provided by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control by the end of 2015.
This is HSSC’s largest health informatics infrastructure asset and allows researchers from member organizations to study specific health disorders across a large, diverse population base. Ultimately, the CDW will enable clinicians to follow patient conditions in real-time, an invaluable tool in population health.
