Why We Are Doing It

The ACO Collaborative Learning Network was created to provide HSSC’s member hospitals with an avenue to share information and address common issues associated with implementing the accountable care organization (ACO) model of health care delivery in South Carolina. The information-sharing occurs through member-driven workshops and webinars.

Some of the specific goals of the network are to:

  • Establish open discussion and learning programs to address implementation strategies for ACO models.
  • Conduct solution-oriented discussions regarding ACO quality-of-care metrics and outcomes.
  • Work closely with state and federal agencies to understand fully the implementation of component ACO programs and their financial and legal risks.
  • Develop an “e-literacy library” of papers and commentaries on ACOs and medical homes, with analyses and implementation strategies for use by the network’s members.
