Patient Centered Research

SCResearch.org enables South Carolinians to participate in research opportunities and novel treatment options available across HSSC member universities and hospitals.

Background

SCResearch.org is a collaborative effort between HSSC and the South Carolina Clinical and Translational Research Institute (SCTR) as part of the National Institute of Health’s National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences Clinical and Translational Science Award program. It serves as a directory for South Carolina clinical research, enabling South Carolinians to participate in research opportunities and novel treatment options that are available across HSSC member universities and hospitals. Participation in these treatment options (clinical trials) allows individuals to play an active role in their own health care and to access new treatments before they become widely available. It also allows individuals to help others who may benefit from their participation in clinical trials in the future. Choosing to participate in a clinical trial or new treatment option is an important decision. SCResearch.org is available as a valuable clinical collaboration tool for researchers and clinicians from HSSC member organizations and is also available to the public.

How To Use

If you are a patient and interested in participating in a clinical trial, you can search for studies using keywords. You may also search by browsing by university or health system using a keyword such as a disease type or researcher.
